AMK Welding has a 40-year history of manufacturing specialized aircraft engine parts for some of the world’s leading players in the industry, including Pratt & Whitney and General Electric Aircraft Engines. AMK is located near the heart of the aircraft industry’s jet engine manufacturing market, Hartford, Connecticut.

AMK welds components such as turbine blades, nozzles and other equipment typically situated in a jet engine’s hot gas path. Welding, brazing and coating processes are utilized, and many of the operations require highly skilled manual applications. Other operations are fully automated and often take place in sealed chambers to maintain an inert gas atmosphere. These include specialized welding procedures such as tungsten inert gas (TIG) and electron beam (EB) processes.

It takes several years of training to develop the precise manual skills performed by AMK’s welders. Skilled employees, advanced equipment and a commitment to excellence have been critical to the growth and success at AMK.
