DMC Nobelclad has a long and proud history in the practice and growth of the explosion welding technology. The factory and offices are located on a beautiful and strategic location on the Mediterranean Sea. This location is ideal because of the proximity of steel mills and the access to international shipping ports. Nobelclad exports to Europe, Asia, the Mid-East and parts of North America.

Like the farmers tending the vineyards surrounding the factory Nobelclad has nurtured the explosion welding technology. In 1966 Nobel Bozel, Nobelclad’s original name, licensed the DuPont Detaclad™ technology for explosion welding. The first uses of Detaclad™ were for joining and cladding highly dissimilar metals such as titanium and aluminum to steel and other metals. The technology filled a need unmet by other processes. Various industries demanded the needs of an integral, bi-metallic, welding process.

DMC Nobelclad has always been at the forefront of research and development in the advancement of the expanding technology of explosion welding. In conjunction with renowned French research institutes, Nobelclad has been a pioneer in characterizing the sublime technology. The expansion of the understanding of the basic nature of the weld has allowed DMC Nobelclad to expand the product boundaries, making plates larger and in some instances cladding metal thinner and more cost effectively.

In 1996 DMC Nobelclad bought Nitrometall and consolidated several original Detaclad™ licensees. Further streamlining the industry, Dynamic Materials Corporation acquired Nobeclad and Nitrometall in 2001.

The duo of Nobelclad and NitroMetall, along with DMC Clad Metal USA make the largest, most innovative explosion welding organization in the world. DMC Nobelclad’s leadership in research and development keeps DMC at the cutting edge.

Avec plus de 30 ans d'existence, DMC Nobelclad possède une grande expérience dans la pratique et l'évolution de la technologie de soudage par explosion. L'usine et les bureaux se trouvent dans une belle région stratégique sur la côte méditerranéenne. Cet endroit est idéalement situé en raison de la proximité d'aciéries et de celle de ports maritimes internationaux.

Nobelclad exporte en Europe, en Asie, au Moyen Orient et à quelques régions d'Amérique du Nord.

A l'image des vignerons qui améliorent sans cesse leurs vignobles dans les environs de l'usine, Nobelclad a fait progresser la technologie de soudage par explosion.

En 1966, Nobel Bozel, (nom original de Nobelclad), acheta la licence de la technologie Dupont Detaclad du soudage par explosion. Les premières applications du procédé Detaclad furent la jonction de métaux dissimilaires tels que le titane à l'acier, l'aluminium à l'acier , ainsi que d'autres métaux. Diverses industries devinrent alors demandeuses d'un procédé de soudage intégral bimétallique.

DMC Nobelclad a toujours été à la pointe de la recherche et du développement du procédé de soudage par explosion.

En collaboration avec plusieurs instituts de recherche français, Nobelclad est le pionnier de la caractérisation de cette technologie étonnante. La maîtrise de cette technique de soudage a permis à DMC Nobelclad d'élargir les combinaisons de métaux, de plaquer des surfaces de plus en plus importantes, et dans certains cas, de rendre le placage de métaux fins plus économique.

En 1992, DMC Nobelclad fit l'acquisition de Nitrometall et regroupa plusieurs sociétés détenant la licence Detalclad.

L'acquisition de Nobelclad et de Nitrometall fut effectuée par DMC en 2001.

L'association Nobelclad / Nitrometall / DMC USA constitue l'entreprise de placage par explosion la plus importante et la plus innovatrice du monde.

La position de leader de DMC Nobelclad en matière de recherche et de développement est garante de son avant-gardisme dans le domaine.
