DMC Clad Metal USA is the world’s largest and most efficient manufacturer of explosion clad products. The Clad Metal USA production facility, which was built in western Pennsylvania in 1999, is modern and optimally equipped. The metal processing machinery provides capacity unequalled in the explosion cladding industry. The explosive detonations, which are the heart of the explosion clad manufacturing process, are performed in a massive underground chamber near Mt. Braddock, PA. With the unique capability for sustained detonations of 6 tons of explosive daily, the facility offers exceptional production capacity while being free of weather and related environmental issues.

The Colorado based Sales Team is centrally located for domestic customer support and well positioned for international business communications with both Europe and the Far East.

DMC Clad Metal USA evolved from the merger of the North American leaders in explosion cladding, Explosive Fabricators Inc. (EFI) in Colorado and DuPont Detaclad in Pennsylvania. DuPont Detaclad, the original explosion cladding company, invented and commercialized the explosion welding technology in the 1960’s. Explosive Fabricators licensed Detaclad technology in 1976 and soon became a world leader in explosion clad manufacture. EFI’s strengths included innovation, marketing savvy, and a dedicated Customer Service Culture.
